The Process

  • Please check out our shipping instructions page for detailed information regarding how to pack your bouquet.

Once we receive your flowers, we'll reach out to you confirming that they arrived safe and sound. We then remove your flowers from the box, sort them and place them in clean water untl they go into the press (within 24 hours)

  • When fresh flowers arrive, we make sure they go into our handmade presses within 24 hours. Depending on the size of the bouquet it can take several hours to properly prepare, shape and arrange your flowers in a press.

  • Your flowers will take up to 2 months to properly dry and lose all of their moisture. We check your flowers every day for the first week to ensure they are drying correctly. Your flowers will stay in the press for 6-8 months until we are ready to start the design process for your final piece.

Things to Know

  • Every single flower is different in that they each have their own needs when prepared for preservation. I do not color correct, dye or alter the flowers in any way. I prefer to keep your blooms 100% natural and use a traditional process of flower pressing. This means some flowers do not come out of the press the exact same color they went in. It’s likely the color of the petals may lighten or deepen. I personally enjoy this natural transformation :) This is particularly true for all white bouquets, if you are considering an all white bouquet, please see additional information in the section below.

Results of the preservation process will also depend on the freshness of the blooms when they arrive to our shop. If you send already yellowing flowers, they will yellow further in our process. Although we can preserve most flowers, there are certain flowers that tend to hold their color and shape better than others through the preservation process.

  • My design style requires that bouquets have a wide variety of flowers, bloom shapes/sizes, filler flowers and greenery.

The feeling of “movement/flow” that most clients seek out from my art is only possible with the stems and smaller flowers that are often overlooked in bouquet arrangements. Please speak with your florist in advance to ensure you have filler flowers and greenery that you love in addition to the larger focal flowers.

Due to this need for variety, we do not accept bouquets that do not have greenery or consist of only one type of flower.

  • We do accept all white bouquets, with a few caveats. White flowers are extremely fragile and require much observation and attention through the first few weeks of pressing. White flowers tend to brown easily, most white flowers will turn blonde, beige or tan instead of remaining bright white. I personally love the way this looks but I understand it isn’t for everyone. If you would like your bouquet to appear perfectly white after pressing, you’ll need to seek out an artist who offers “color correction”

If you have an all white bouquet we require that you have a variety of different types of flowers as well as a variety of greenery and filler flowers. You must also ship an all white bouquet with guaranteed 2-day delivery as they tend to bruise and brown more easily during shipping.

  • If anything happens to your bouquet in transit, or, if you would like me to recreate a bouquet from a past wedding, I can source flowers from my local florist. The client is expected to cover the cost of replacement stems, but I pass along my business discount to you!

  • Proper care will ensure your preserved artwork will last a lifetime. Part of this care includes keeping the frame out of direct sunlight. This means that the sun should not directly shine on the frame at any point in the day! Also, your frame should not be hung in any bathroom containing a shower or over a fireplace.

Make it Yours

Each piece of art is uniquely yours from the moment you select the flowers for your special day. We also believe it’s important each client is included in the basic design aspects of your art piece. While we reserve artistic freedom when it comes to adhering the flowers to the background medium, you decide the color, frame, shape, size and orientation of the artwork. Maybe you already have a color scheme in your home that you want to match. Maybe you want to explore some new options not listed below. Either way, we are here to work with you! Please take a moment to browse our standard offerings below. Please reach out to us directly if you’d like to explore other framing or background styles!

Digital Scans & Prints

We are now excited to offer digital scans and prints of your artwork as an add-on to the final piece. A print of your artwork can make a great gifts for mothers/fathers of the bride or other members of your wedding party. We work closely with a local photographer & art reproduction company to produce high quality 360 DPI scans and giclee prints of your custom design on archival quality paper. While the original flowers will naturally fade over your lifetime, an archival print will keep it’s color forever.
